The Beach

We spent the last week in San Diego/Oceanside and here is a handful of pics that I took while there. Since the kiddos get me up long before sunrise anyway, it was really easy to get out while the light was beautiful. I didn't do any sunset pics though, that happens to early (usually around dinner time while I am preoccupied).

I liked this one in color and black and white, so you get to see it both ways.

Water Drops

I need to practice this technique some more. It's done with a macro lens (filter in my case) and my focus wasn't as sharp as I'd like/need, but I got a few decent ones so I figured I'd post. So, look for more on this later.

This second one was just taken with my new lens on 200mm, there was no macro filter on it. While the macro would have been nice, my focus is much better here and I think I can get it to work like I want (you should be able to actually see the flower in the water droplet and tell what it is). The above picture was taken later and I moved my set up around a little and I like that set up better, so we'll see if I can get that sharp flower with just the zoom lens and the better set up (why can nothing ever go together the first time, of course I had to switch lenses then set ups instead of trying the new set up before changing lenses. Does any of this rambling make sense?)

New Lens

I just ordered me a new lens and need to get back out and take pictures. I've been making too many excuses why I don't and that is going to stop.

So, as soon as it gets here next week I hope to fill up this blog with just random pics I take. They won't be of the kids, those will continue to go on the kids forum, these will be other stuff. I intend to do some architectural, a little landscape, some people watching, anything that catches my eye and stretches my imagination so I stay sharp and constantly learning.
